Theresa Johnson

Theresa is an expert in the rehabilitation industry with 25 years of dedication to the delivery of therapy services to seniors.  She is an occupational therapist who has vast experience in ownership and operations within the healthcare sector.  Since joining Blue Stone Therapy in 2015 she has been committed to sustaining Blue Stone’s position as the provider and employer of choice.  As COO, Theresa concentrates on responsible growth while upholding the strong foundation of people, processes and culture within the organization.  In addition, she focuses on building quality therapy programs and achieving excellent clinical outcomes. She takes an active role in assisting Blue Stone’s partners in navigating the rapidly changing world of reimbursements and regulatory changes while ensuring a superior level of service.

As a proponent of community service, Theresa obtaining her CarFit Technician Certification in  2012 and volunteers in CarFit Technician Trainings and events for seniors.  She has served as a presenter for the Iowa Health Care Association and guest faculty speaker at OT and OTA programs in the Midwest.  She and is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the Iowa Occupational Therapy Association, and the National Association of Rehab Agencies. Theresa holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from St. Ambrose University.  She also has a Masters in Health Care Administration from Des Moines University and she is a Certified Dementia Specialist. Theresa is a native of Urbandale, Iowa. She partners in business and life with her husband Doug, and together they have six children.
