Leading with Heart: How Kiley Drives Patient Success
Kiley Roder is a Rehab Director at Physical Therapist Assistant who thrives on bringing in positive, and inspiring energy to the patients she serves every single day. With being in the therapy industry for over 18 years, she has been able to lead her therapy team with confidence and determination.
At Pleasantview Home in Kalona Iowa, Kiley leads a strong and dedicated therapy team that serves patients across all stages of care. From short term skilled rehab, all the way to memory care and assisted living. Their therapy gym features everything from parallel bars and stairs for gait training to pain management modalities and a simulated kitchen for occupational therapy.
Each day, Kiley gets to start her day by checking in with her team, coordinating patient schedules, and connecting with the nursing staff. After that, she gets to treating and works one-on-one with each of her patients.

Kiley thinks outside of the box, and brings in functional activities that are fun, and interactive for her patients. She might work with a patient on getting out of a chair smoothly, practice walking down the hallway while reading signs to improve balance, or step outside onto uneven ground to help decrease fall risks and maintain independence.
“The patients motivate me to come to work every day”, Kiley says. “The relationships that I gain with them, they become a little bit more like family. Knowing that I can help them be more successful in their daily routine, have less pain, and get around a little bit easier is definitely rewarding."
Kiley enjoys being supported at work, and that is one thing Blue Stone Therapy always does for their employees. She can balance her schedule and daily life well, with getting the opportunity to spend time with her family each day. The support she receives from her supervisor all the way to the CEO’s, brings her so much confidence each day. "The support I get from Blue Stone Therapy is the reason I stay with them," Kiley shares.
Our organization is dedicated to supporting and guiding our employees every day, because when our team succeeds, our patients receive the best possible care. We are so proud to have therapists like Kiley, who have such a strong dedication to helping patients regain independence and strength.
