Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) at Eventide works with people on improving everyday activities. These could include self-care tasks like dressing, parenting, shopping, working, using a computer, taking transit, interacting in social situations, or going to school — anything that is important to a person. People often see an occupational therapist because of an illness or injury that may make it hard to fully participate or enjoy their activities. Occupational therapy can look different depending on if the patient is an adult or a child, what activities are important to them, and what condition is limiting activities. But, the goal in all occupational therapy is to help people be as independent, safe, active, and successful as possible in the activities they want and need to do each day.

Speech Therapy
Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) provide assessment and specialized treatment programs for overcoming speech, language, and voice disorders. Speech Therapy can help improve articulation, fluency, and resonance in speaking for the patient. SLPs are trained in treating swallowing disorders, known as dysphagia, a common problem in the elderly. As well as speech disorders, the Eventide SLPs have treatment programs for comprehension and cognitive (thinking) disorders. The SLPs will provide activities and treatments to help the patient manage and improve their condition. All ages can benefit from Speech Therapy at Eventide .
